Hans Rosling and the Five Key Demographic Trends Shaping the World

In an earlier blog (February 8, 2017), I provided links that highlighted some of the work by the late Hans Rosling, whose work frequently included discussions of population issues. In a final interview with the BBC, Rosling highlighted five ways demographics were re-shaping the world economy, with his arguments often times running counter to conventional wisdom or thinking. In particular, Rosling identified declining fertility rates, population growth in Africa, increased life-expectancy, migration, and the increasing political power of women as the most important demographic forces.
